This time I’ll  take you behind the scene of Coconut island Spring/Summer 2012 catalogue photoshoot. It was friday, 19th August 2011.  

Welcome to Coconut Island's photo studio :) Well actually ... it's a multi function room that can be use for meeting, trainings (I used to give Visual Merchandising training here too), and this studio also used to shot other brands under WM Group. The equipments is very simple ... just a backdrop and 2 softboxs, Jinbei M500. 

Coconut Island does 2 type of photoshoot: 1 is for the brand image, and the this one are meant for catalogue: capturing every single collections. The purpose is for promotion materials, website and to be sent overseas market. Coconut Island is still trying to break into the international market.

We had around 60 products to shoot. It was simple yet quite tiring.

PS:  if you ever wonder why casual products looks so damn great on catalogue … well let me tell you that the models are size 0, and we have make up artist and stylist on site. So … it’s a lot of work on every single casual look. Not that casual anymore … once you’ve stepped behind the lense :)
